My fitness journey




My fitness journey began when I was 13 (picture 1). At the time I was overweight and I couldn't find a way to keep the weight off. At my heaviest, I weighed 190 lbs. This made many activities difficult; It was hard to play with my friends without getting out of breath, I had no upper body strength so I couldn't climb trees like the others, and on top of this, my self-esteem was at rock bottom. At this point in my life, I decided to make a change.
I started with my diet. I cut out sugar and transitioned into a vegan diet. These changes helped me lose around 40 lbs (picture 2). Although I was happy to lose weight, I was now the skinny kid so I decided to put on some muscle. With an okay diet combined with physical activity from school sports, I was able to maintain a weight of 170-180 lbs through the majority of my Highschool years. It wasn't until my senior year that bad eating habits and stress caused me to gain some extra pounds. I wasn't involved in any sports so I also had a very inconsistent fitness routine. I hit 190 lbs for the second time in my life (picture 3). I didn't look the same as before but I still wasn't happy with my body. This is when I got serious about fitness and began weightlifting and healthy eating. Fast forward another 3 years and I am in my best shape even though I weigh around 210 lbs (~15% Body fat). Fitness has changed my life and now I want to help it change yours!
